4NRg - Innovation in action

Scour Prevention Systems Ltd. has a unique, patented method of stopping scour around structures in the sea (eg wind turbines), and perhaps more importantly, over power cables: 80% of all insurance claims related to offshore renewable energy are concerning the cables rather than the structures.

4NRg took the original concept, developed it and, with the help of a professional IP lawyer, wrote the complete patent filing. The PCT was published in August 2010 and it is hoped that the company will become commercial by the summer of 2011. In the meantime, 4NRg continues to research the market, develop the business case and look for funding. Additional research will be carried out once the new testing facility is completed.
