14th January 2011 Not one, but two: finalists in this year's EEEGr Innovation Awards

Two sister companies today heard that they were finalists in this year's East of England Energy Group (EEEGr) Innovation Awards: 4NRg and Scour Prevention Systems.
4NRg has been shortlisted for its innovative approach to combatting coastal erosion, and using green energy generated from the devices to help pay for it. Although very early stage, the concept is showing great promise, and now looking for investment. It has recently been presented to the full board of the Broads Authority, stimulating a lively yet very positive discussion about its potential. It will also shortly be presented to key members of the Greater London Authority as an idea to supplement potential modifications to the Thames barrier, creating a more integrated coastal defence strategy for this global city.
Scour Prevention Systems (SPS) has won through with its ant-scour system for offshore wind turbines and cables. This new system is likely to be trialled in the spring at a nearby offshore wind farm with the help of a major energy company. The product will then be available for commercial deployment by the early autumn of 2011. The EEEGr awards will be taking place at the Holiday Inn at Norwich Airport on the evening of Wednesday 23rd February 2011.
